MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

What we do?

This initiative aims to offer participating students a comprehensive range of support, including academic guidance, career development, personal growth, goal setting, emotional assistance, life skills, and practical advice. Our primary goal is to create an environment that nurtures growth and empowerment, enabling students to excel both academically and personally.

Academic Guidance

Our mentors offer ongoing academic support, assisting students with homework, subject-specific queries, study techniques, and overall academic success strategies.

Personal Development

The program prioritizes personal growth by nurturing essential life skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, communication, time management, resilience, and self-confidence. Our mentors guide students in building strong character traits and empowering mindsets.

Emotional Support

Recognizing the importance of emotional well-being, our mentors will offer a supportive and empathetic environment. They actively listen to students’ concerns, provide guidance during challenging times, and foster resilience and mental well-being.

Career Development

Students benefit from career exploration sessions, where mentors will provide valuable insights into various professions, industries, and future educational pathways. We will also organize a subprogram called Jumuiya Talk, where successful individuals will be invited to speak to the student body, sharing their inspiring stories of achievement through hardship.

Goal Setting

Mentors work closely with students to set both short-term and long-term goals, helping them create action plans and providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure goal achievement and personal fulfillment.

Life Skills and Practical Advice

Students will receive practical advice on a range of essential life skills, including financial literacy, college applications, resume writing, interview skills, and other relevant topics to prepare them for success beyond their academic journey.

"Mentors within the International Jumuiya Mentorship Program undergo a comprehensive training program designed to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge required for effective student support and guidance. The training focuses on key aspects, beginning with an orientation that acquaints mentors with program goals, values, and expectations. It further encompasses mentorship techniques, where mentors learn strategies for building meaningful relationships through active listening, empathetic communication, and constructive feedback. The training program also delves into goal setting and development, teaching mentors to aid students in crafting actionable plans and fostering motivation and empowerment in their personal and academic pursuits".
